Not all of Gustavsson’s brothers, sisters, children and grandchildren were available for the dedication ceremony. Gustavsson begin umpiring in 1986 in Little League, Senior League, high school, Legion and softball. He enjoyed tournament umpiring in Virginia, Grand Rapids, Bear River, Buck Lake and Keewatin. His umpiring career came to an end in 2016 because he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. After that, he did the scheduling for umpires in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Gustavsson was a huge staple in the softball community, and he will be missed by the many who had the pleasure of meeting him or playing in the sport with him.
