HIBBING — The Hibbing Community College baseball team had their hitting shoes on in a 26-0 victory over UW-Barron County on Saturday, March 30.

The Cardinals pounded out 15 hits in the game, which allowed starting pitcher Braydon Borg to get the victory. He tossed five innings of no-hit ball, striking out nine and walking two.

Hibbing scored seven runs in the first inning as Derrick Calvillo had a two-run single; Ray Santacruz an RBI double; and Carson Dobia a two-run double.

The Cardinals sent 18 batters to the plate in the second inning, scoring 13 runs in the process.

Evan Jerome hit a three-run triple; Santacruz an RBI double; Dobias a one-run single; Calvillo an RBI single; and Evyn Booth a two-run double.

In the third, Hibbing took advantage of a number of Barron County errors to plate four more runs. The lone RBI came on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch for Jordan Perez.

In the fourth, Ramon Morales had an RBI double.

Chanler Dilday finished with two hits. Calvillo had two hits and three RBI; Santacruz had two hits and two RBI; Simon Fishgold had two hits; and Dobias also had two hits and three RBI.
