• Gerald D. Crest Jr., 37, of Hibbing, convicted of misdemeanor disorderly conduct on Aug. 6, 2018. Sentenced by Judge Mark M. Starr to 90 days jail stayed, one year probation with conditions including 13 days jail, $185 in fines, do not use or possession firearms, ammunition or explosives; follow all instructions of probation; no alcohol or controlled substance use with the exception of prescribed medications; no mood-altering chemicals; no possession of drugs or alcohol; do not enter bars or liquor stores; attend Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous; no contact with victim(s) without prior approval of probation officer or incidental contact at court hearings related to custody case; no threats of violence; no driver’s license violations; no driving without insurance; remain law-abiding; no same or similar violations; sign all releases of information; and follow recommendations of evaluation of mental health providers and treatment discharge.
• Howard L. Barker, 57, of Hibbing, convicted of misdemeanor careless driving on Aug. 6, 2018. Sentenced by Judge Mark to 90 days jail stayed, one year probation with conditions including two days jail, $585 in fines, no alcohol or controlled substance use with the exception of prescribed medications, no mood-altering chemicals, no possession of drugs or alcohol, random testing, submit to random searches, no drinking and driving, no driver’s license violations, no driving without insurance, do not enter bars or liquor stores, victim impact panel, remain law-abiding, no same or similar violations, chemical dependency evaluation and follow recommendations of evaluation.
