A Democracy is a government of, for and by the people, with a majority rule.

Today, the Democrats have no say and it is time for change.

The mid-term election on Nov. 6 is our opportunity to change the course of history.

Do you like the things that are happening in our world?

Children literally kidnapped at our border. Yes. Kidnapped.

Funding cuts for public schools and for children’s healthcare.

Nationwide voter suppression, voter list purging and extreme gerrymandering to keep voters from the polls. Thousands, mostly blacks and Native Americans, are affected. They are the people most likely to vote against Republicans.

Healthcare is under attack, rates are rising and pre-existing conditions may not be covered.

A $1.5 trillion tax cut for the wealthy is a give-away that has threatened Social Security and Medicare. These are direct attacks that show no concern for and would devastate senior citizens.

The last four Supreme Court Justices were chosen by two presidents that had not won the popular vote. Remember, a Democracy means the majority rules.

Russian meddling in the 2016 election affected the outcome, a proven fact, but our president still maintains they are “good people.”

Our clean air and water are threatened by climate change, but scientists’ views are totally disregarded and safeguards are removed or reversed on a regular basis.

Our allies are being alienated, even as Russia, China and all the Saudis are being befriended and defended. We have gone from the leader of the world to the laughing stock of the world.

Our constitutional right to free press and free speech is under constant attack, even as we are bullied, ridiculed, mocked and lied to on a daily basis.

Racism is at 1960 levels.

Attacks on the gay community.

Cuts to Planned Parenthood.

No real aid to Puerto Rico.

The list is endless.

Do any of these things bother you? Offend your senses? Make you squirm?

Then you owe it to yourself and your fellow Americans to get out and vote on Nov. 6.

We need a Congress that will stand up and defend democracy.

Your vote is the only voice you have right now. Use it. Don’t be silent. Our democracy is at stake.
