Kudos to associate “Brad” in lawn and garden at Lowes for going out of his way following me to register to make sure I was being taken care of properly. You were clearly busy, but yet you dropped what you were doing and helped me and another customer in the chilly garden area, which you weren’t prepared for without a coat or cloves. You made me feel so very good, so I wanted to return the favor. (Submitted by Jeanine Fox)
Kudo’s to Boy Scout Troop 1 for donating their time to help the Hibbing Elks Lodge clean out their basement storage. Austin Morris, Hunter Morris, Riley Dragon, Phil Quinn and Jim Morris. We really appreciated your help. (Submitted by Hibbing Elks Lodge #1022)
Kudos to the 43 providers that provided information to veterans at the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon-Hibbing/Chisholm Veteran Information and Resource Fair on April 10th even with the threat of a blizzard! At least 100 people attended and 16 people volunteered throughout the day. People came from as far away as Moose Lake, Canyon, Pengilly, Ely, Angora and Cook. Almost all branches were covered (no Coast Guard) and all eras from the 50s to current National Guard soldiers and 12 women veterans attended. The event would not have been possible without the many individuals and organizations that stepped up to assist including: MACV, Fairview Range Medical Center, H&R Block, AARP Tax Volunteers, Walmart, Hibbing-Chisholm Breakfast Rotary, Habitat for Humanity, Hibbing National Guard Armory, City of Hibbing Memorial Building Staff, Hibbing Community Veteran Thrift Store, St Louis County Veteran Service Officers, United Way, Northeastern Minnesota Women Veterans, VFW, American Legion, DAV and their auxiliaries. And a special thank you to all of the members of the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon-Hibbing/Chisholm Committee!
