Ronald F. Maciej, 82, of California, formerly of Nashwauk, died Sunday, June 23, 2019, in California.
Ron was born on Feb. 7, 1937, in Little Falls, Minn., to Frank and Fran Maciej. He was a retired business owner, founding Superior Bar Fixtures of Long Beach, Calif., in 1964. Ron’s passion was spending time with his family. He made many trips to Minnesota to introduce his children, and then his grandchildren, to his hometown of Nashwauk and their Minnesota family. Highlights of these trips were the Nashwauk Fourth of July celebrations, class reunions (proud member of the Nashwauk High School Class of 1955), Maciej family reunions, canoe trips to the BWCA, and visiting with Ron’s many friends. As his son Michael noted about his Dad, “California was home, but his heart never left Minnesota.”
Ron is survived by his children, Jeff (Leticia) Peters, Lisa (Greg) Levine and Michael Maciej, all of California; brother, Terry (Carol Ann) Maciej of Pengilly; and sister, Denice Maciej of Duluth; four grandchildren, Daniel Peters, David Peters, Brittany Levine and Michael Levine; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; cousins; and former wife, Shari Maciej.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his former wife, mother of his children, Pamela Evans.
