HIBBING — A vacant rental property located at 2320 Fifth Ave. W. in Hibbing was significantly damaged by fire.
The Hibbing Fire Department (HFD) responded to the report of smoke coming from the roof of a house at 5:27 a.m. Friday, according to a release from Fire Marshal Bryan Fagerstrom.
When fire crews arrived, they confirmed a structure fire with smoke coming from the eaves of the building. Fire crews conducted a search of the structure for possible victims, and encountered heavy fire near the ceiling of the bathroom.
The majority of the fire was extinguished by 6:32 a.m., but crews worked for several more hours conducting overhaul, looking for hot spots.

There were no reported injuries.
The Chisholm and Keewatin fire departments, Hibbing Police Department, Hibbing Public Utilities and Hibbing Public Works assisted at the scene.
