HIBBING — Hibbing Community College Faculty member Jessalyn Sabin was recently named as a Minnesota State Board of Trustees Outstanding Educator Finalist.
Sabin teaches in the Biology department at Hibbing Community College. She proudly calls herself a lifelong learner who strives to help students understand it is okay not to be perfect as long as they continue to enlighten themselves. She is a high-level, impressive educator who promotes collaboration as a key component in her courses, encouraging students to learn from one another, sharing their wealth of experiences and diverse perspectives.
“What impresses me most about Jessalyn is her desire to continually grow as an educator and leader. “ said HCC Dean of Academics Aaron Reini. “She is constantly exploring new and creative ways to engage her students. With her passion, mindfulness, and curiosity, she models what it means to be a lifelong learner, and she shows great dedication to her students, college, and community. She is very much deserving of this honor.”
