VIRGINIA — In the early morning hours Monday, Edgewood Vista Assisted Living in Virginia was robbed. Prescription narcotics, controlled substances, were taken by masked men from the facility.
The Virginia Police Department was dispatched to the facility, at 705 17th St. North, around 3:39 a.m. Approximately 20 minutes before the 911 call was placed, two younger men entered through the unlocked main entrance. The men were dressed in dark clothing, masks, bandanas and gloves. One of the men had a shotgun.
According to a press release from Virginia Police Chief Nicole Mattson, “The men took the (prescription narcotics) controlled substances from the facility and left in a vehicle.”
There were no physical injuries during the robbery.
“The Virginia Police Department is actively investigating the case and will release more information when it is available.”
