HIBBING — There will be a Torch Run, for the benefit of the Special Olympics, in Hibbing on Tuesday, June 18, starting at 11 a.m.
The run/jog/walk will commence at the corner of First Avenue and Howard Street and end at the Hibbing Police Department. There will be refreshments provided at the department after the event.
The mission of the Torch Run is to raise awareness and funds for the Special Olympics movement. With the Flame becoming a powerful unifying symbol, no matter where it goes, it draws people together to celebrate our differences and our shared humanity.
Some Special Olympic athletes will be participating in this event. To participate, please contact Investigator Shiek at the Hibbing Police Department at 218-262-0288.
If anyone would like to be a sponsor instead of an active participant in this event you could purchase a hat or T-shirt for $20 each.
“We would like to have our community be a part of this great cause,” organizers said.
Any questions, call 262-0288.
