CHISHOLM — A group of students from the Chisholm High School Drama Department are using their acting skills to raise money for a trip to New York City.
A one-time, dinner theater performance of the murder mystery comedy “Cafe’ Murder” is scheduled for Wednesday, June 19, at Valentini’s Supper Club.
A three-course meal will be served, followed by the students’ performance. At the end, the audience will have an opportunity to decide “whodunnit.”
There will also be raffles, silent auction items and a cash bar.
Megan Zubich, drama coach at CHS, recalled the success of a dinner theater students performed back in 2015 to raise money for a similar trip to The City.
“It was very successful, so successful that people were disappointed we didn’t have more than one performance,” Zubich said. “We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to raise money for our trip again, while providing our community with some entertainment.”
There are 10 students from CHS Drama signed up for the trip to The Big Apple this August. While there, their group is scheduled to take in three performances on Broadway, and will be attending a session facilitated by theater performers. They also plan to visit the 911 Memorial, tour Grand Central Station and visit China Town.
A limited 100 tickers run $40 each and are available at Valentini’s, VanBaak Agency, or from any of the drama students from the New York City group.
