Named board member

CHISHOLM — MN APSE welcomes new board members, among six new board members is Raini Knaeble. Raini began employment at the Range Center, Inc. in Chisholm in July of 2017 as the director of vocational services. Raini believes in supporting individuals in competitive, integrated employment and giving all individuals with disabilities opportunities to explore and consider community employment.

As an APSE board member, she hopes to utilize her connections in the northern Minnesota region to spread this mission of Employment First.

Selected to participate in MN-TAP

CHISHOLM — Range Center is excited to announce that they have been selected as one of six providers across the state of Minnesota to participate in the first co-hart of The MN-Technical Assistance Project (MN-TAP).

The MN-TAP is a two-year project funded by the Minnesota Department of Human Services designed to improve employment outcomes for people with disabilities. This project will be led by The Institute for Community Inclusion at the University of Massachusetts-Boston and the Institute for Community Integration at the University of Minnesota. The goal of the Technical Assistance (TA) is to help providers expand their capacity to support people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) in obtaining and succeeding in competitive, integrated employment opportunities.

Range Center will work within this project for one year. Don Lavin and Cecilia Gandolfo will be the core TA team.

Architectural Resources, Inc. (ARI) Hires new Interior Designer

DULUTH — Architectural Resources, Inc. (ARI) recently made the following hire at its Duluth office.

ARI announces that Plymouth, MInn., native, Stephanie Elzen, has been hired as an Interior Designer.

Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in a CIDA accredited program for Interior Design at North Dakota State University in 2013. During this time, she also obtained a minor in Hospitality.

With 5 years of professional interior design experience in the Duluth area, Stephanie will be an asset to all teams, both internally and externally. Her responsibilities will include: Interior Design, FF&E, space programming, and graphic renderings.

Project Care awarded monetary support

HIBBING — UCare awarded Project Care Free Clinic $20,000 to support the ongoing efforts to provide medical and advocating services to those in need. Project Care offers primary medical care and referral services to individuals and families that are uninsured or underinsured. There are three clinic locations; Hibbing, Grand Rapids and Virginia.

UCare is a people powered health plan based in northeast Minneapolis. They serve Medicare, Medicaid and individual and family health plan members, including Minnesotans with disabilities.

UCare improves the health of community members through innovative partnerships. In 2019, UCare will continue its long history of collaboration with providers and other partners through grants to improve access to medical care, behavioral health, and that address social determinants of health.

Local Wausau Homes Builder earns two awards

VIRGINIA — Redefining the building experience is exactly what Wausau Homes Virginia is doing for their home buyers. Todd Stanek was presented with two prestigious awards: the Top Legacy Builder award, and the Voice of the Customer award at the annual Wausau Homes Builder Conference in Madison, Wis.

The Top Legacy Builder award is presented to top legacy builders that have worked with Wausau Homes for more than four years and have the highest amount of volume. “Our first priority is to make sure our homebuyers are enjoying the process of building their dream home, so this award is very reassuring that we are meeting our goal of satisfied homebuyers,” Stanek commented.

Todd also earned the prestigious Voice of the Customer award by excelling at being the trusted advisor to past home buyers by earning an impressive 100 percent rating. J.D. Power and Associates average rating for new home builders is only 83 percent.
