BELLE PLAINE, Minn. — Rachel Simmons of Shakopee, Minn., and Aaron Houck of New Prague, Minn., were united in marriage on Oct. 26, 2013, at the historic Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Belle Plaine, Minn. The Rev. Jim Barnes officiated the 5 p.m. ceremony.
Pianist for the ceremony was Casandra Douglas.
Parents of the couple are Robert and Karen Simmons of Shakopee, and Bonnie Hyatt of Hibbing and the late Daniel Houck Sr.
Matron of honor was Sarah Thompson. Bridesmaids were Katie Jirik, Ashley Lundgren and Carin Jorgensen. Flower girl was Payton Hutchcraft and personal attendant was Marria Thompson.
Best man was Cody Matsen. Groomsmen were Dan Houck, Dane Lundgren and Michael Simmons. Junior groomsman was Mathias Simmons. Ushers were Gordon Schmidt and Kyle Whitmore.
A reception was held at the Minnesota Horse and Hunt Club.
Rachel received a bachelor of arts degree in history and anthropology from Minnesota State University in Mankato, and a master of art in art history from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. She is employed by Lowe’s.
Aaron received a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Crown College. He is employed by Cabela’s.
Following a wedding trip to Duluth, the couple resides in New Prague.
