HIBBING — Melissa Ann Nyberg and Matthew Paul Erickson were united in marriage on Dec. 27, 2013, at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. The 4:30 p.m. candle-lit ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Anthony Craig.
Organist was Vicki Gornick, and Lynn Erickson, aunt of the groom, was the trumpet player. Soloists were Matthew Anderson, Patrick Milani and Hailey Smith, who also accompanied on the guitar.
Parents of the bride are Bob and Kathy Nyberg.
Parents of the groom are Sandy Erickson and Paul and Tina Erickson, all of Hibbing.
Grandparents of the bride are Joanne (and the late Ramon) Bugliosi, and the late Al and Edna Nyberg, all of Hibbing.
Grandparents of the groom are Millie (and the late Herb) Finney of Hibbing, and Delores (and the late Robert) Erickson of Chisholm.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. She was attended by her two sisters, Christine Nyberg, maid of honor, and Nicole Anderson, bridesmaid, along with friends Bekah Miesbauer, Caitlin Furin, Laicee Grahek, Kaitlyn Aldrich and Brittany Paige. Personal attendant was Brianne Enderle. Junior bridesmaids were the bride’s twin cousins, Jennifer and Elizabeth Valley. Flower girls were Ali Hill, and Abby and Lucy Grzbowski, all cousins of the groom.
The groom was attended by his brother, Steven Erickson, as best man. Groomsmen were Matthew Anderson, brother-in-law, and friends Georde Marchand, Andrew Glomske, Jay Cary, Eric Edmonds and Michael Senich. Ushers included the groom’s cousin, Jacob Erickson, the bride’s cousin, Cody Valley, and friend of the couple, Nicholas Milani. Ring Bearers were Oscar and Linus Thompson, cousins of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance were held at the Crown Ballroom in Hibbing.
The couple honeymooned in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Melissa (“Weez”) is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Duluth, with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.
Matthew is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Duluth, with a bachelor’s degree in math education.
The couple currently resides in Hibbing.
