William J. “Bill” Geiselman, 83 of Virginia, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007 at St. Michael’s Health and Rehab Center in Virginia.

He was born on July 30, 1924, to Robert and Lillian (Mueller) Geiselman in Hibbing. He lived in Hibbing until his family moved to Virginia when he was in the ninth grade. He graduated from Roosevelt High School, class of 1943. Following graduation, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving on the destroyer USS Cushing in the South Pacific during World War II. When he returned to Virginia, he attended Virginia Junior College. On Nov. 8, 1952, Bill was united in marriage to Lois Carlson at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Virginia. He worked for the DM & IR Railroad for about 15 years. He bought the Magic Bar, which he operated until his retirement in 1987.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1640, the Lenont-Peterson Curling Club, the Virginia Gun Club, Moose Lodge 1117, Virginia Elks Lodge 1003, VFW Post 1113, American Legion Post 239, the Northern Club and the Tin Can Sailors. Bill was a big supporter of Virginia baseball and softball. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; daughter; Judy (Floyd) Anderson of Tower; sons: Bob (Lynn) Geiselman of Eden Prairie, Minn., John Geiselman of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Tom (Teresa) Geiselman of Virginia; grandchildren: Michael, Steven, Laura, Joseph and Mary; great-grandchild, Bennett; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Jr., and sisters: Ruth, Gwen and Veronica.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Virginia. The Rev. John O’Donnell will be the celebrant.

Visitation: will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today with a KC Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at the Range Funeral Home in Virginia. It will continue for one hour prior to the Mass Wednesday at the church.

Burial: Will be in Calvary Cemetery in Virginia.
