Irene Janice (Anderson) Dubovick, 95, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at the Apple Valley Centennial House Assisted Living Center.
Irene was born in Mountain Iron on July 16, 1917, to John and Emelia Anderson.
She graduated from Mountain Iron High School, Virginia Community College and Suomi College in Hancock, Mich.
She worked for the Minnesota Unemployment Department in St. Paul, Nopeming/St. Louis County, State Farm Insurance and Co-op Credit Union in Virginia, Oliver Otava Accounting and Dr. G.S. Wheeler/Regional Radiology at the Virginia Hospital.
On March 3, 1951, in Mountain Iron, she was united in marriage to Joseph Dubovick. She was a lifelong member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Mountain Iron and an active Ladies Circle participant. She loved reading, concerts and plays, summers at Lake Leander, winters in Sarasota, Fla., and her travels to Hawaii, Finland, California, New Orleans and Mexico. Some of her favorite times were swimming with her inner tube and the sauna.
She is survived by her daughters, Joanne (Pete) O’Brien of Apple Valley, Minn., and Carol (Gary) Hard of Denver, Colo.; grandsons, Nick O’Brien of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Corey Hard of Denver; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, Joseph; her brother, Edwin Anderson; and sister, Esther Kauppila.
Funeral: Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Mountain Iron.
Visitation: Will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Range Funeral Home in Virginia. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
