Helen G. Lureen
MARBLE — Funeral services for Helen G. Lureen, 91, of Marble, will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marble, Minn. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marble and continue one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Wednesday.
Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Pallbearers are Dan Larson, Mike Mellen, Robert Blood, Jeremy Marovich, Steven Marovich, Dan Larson Jr. and Boe Larson. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
Mrs. Lureen died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003 at the Leisure Hills Health Care Center of Hibbing. She was born on Feb. 17, 1912 to Fredrick and Helen (Collins) Viger in Somerville, Mass. She lived in Phoenix for seven years and was a resident of Marble for nearly 20 years.
She was employed as a bar tender at the Full Circle and was a clerk for Oja’s. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marble. She enjoyed reading, snowmobiling and dancing.
She is survived by her son, Donald (Kathy) Nordgren, of San Diego, Calif.; daughters Barbara Bissel, of Chiefton, Fla., and Nancy (Larry) McClain, of Anoka, Minn., step-daughter, Karen Lureen, Marble; two sisters, Dorothy (Clyde) Fleming, of Hibbing and Margaret (John) Koslucher, of Hibbing, 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick and Helen (Collins) Viger, husband, Earl Nordgren, second husband, Alfred Lureen, brother, Fred and two sisters, Ruth and Irene.
