ADK grant recipient

Kari Borgman, left, Alternative Learning Program (ALP) teacher at Nashwauk-Keewatin High School, accepts a scholarship check from Sabrina Gunter, a member of the Hibbing Phi Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa. Borgman is one of the local recipients awarded an ADK grant this spring. This scholarship provides area teachers with funding for student educational experiences.

Sunday Funday

Sunday Funday returns from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 31, in Bennett Park. This fun, sweaty afternoon is about checking out different fitness formats. Anytime Fitness trainers will conduct a boot camp from 1 to 2 p.m. Angela Schweiberger will lead yoga from 2 to 3 p.m. and Megan Knowles will teach Zumba from 2 to 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. There will also be drawings for prizes. Pictured at left are participants at last year’s event.
